Connie J. Watson Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award

This award is given in honor of the late Connie J. Watson who selflessly volunteered in the Mount Vernon community for years before passing away in 2015. She demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Y-COP and its mission. The award is given to individuals who similarly demonstrate commitment to help youth build their self-esteem, develop social skills, work in teams, and prepare for bright futures.

Betsey has been the Program Director for Y-COP since 2012. She helps lead the Girls' Empowerment Group and led Y-COP’s first global outreach effort, “Barrels for Haiti”, where Y-COP collected toiletries and clothes for children in Liancourt, a small village in the developing nation.

Greg is a retired Senior Investigator with the New York State Department of Corrections (27 years). He is a Head Referee for NYS Public High School Football. Greg is currently employed with Corporate Security at A&E Television Networks and is a well-experienced fisherman.

Tommy has been volunteering with Y-COP since 2016. He is the manager of the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Feeding Program), sponsored by the NYS Department of Health in which he purchases the food and prepares hot, nutritious meals for the youth in the After School and Summer Day Camp Program.

Born in the Bronx and raised in Washington Heights and reborn in Mount
Vernon, NY on July 17, 1991, Howard Feigenbaum celebrated 29 years at The Fleetwood Deli Café. It has been a great chapter in his life, especially after meeting and marrying Christine Coleman. He had two children born in Mt. Vernon Hospital; delivered by Dr. Agnant who became a good friend and whom they all love very much. Over the years, his extended family and friends have grown exponentially.

Taryn Duffy has extensive experience within the New York public policy arena, as well as public relations and communications. She serves as Vice President of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs at Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts and is Chair of the New York Gaming Association, the trade organization for racing and gaming venues through New York State.

Ms. Getz has been part of the Y-COP family since 2019, teaching kids the benefits of yoga and meditation. She is a great story teller and an arts & crafts specialist. She believes in the well-rounded development of children and supporting them to reach their full potential. Ms. Getz brings her positive outlook, kindhearted energy, and great enthusiasm to the kids at Y-COP.
