We met up on February 9th to introduce the kids to the Mount Vernon VCU so they could explain their role in keeping Mount Vernon safe. They got to ask questions involving the protocol of the unit members, how they seek care for themselves in dealing with the daily stresses of their work, and their reflection on the recent events of other “scorpion” units from other states. (Not only that, even some of our younger afterschool kids got to ask questions about what the police do every day & even what their favorite color was.
